EGR Valve

  1. Hi,
    Here's one to share!
I have been having a few problems with our 77 Westy 2.0L Fuel Injection for a while now. Stalling, difficult to start etc. etc. Thought it was a fuelling / breather problem, so checked and replaced as I thought necessary, but still had problems. Well I flattened the battery the other day and while taking battery out, I had a good look round the engine bay and found that the linkage from the throttle body to the EGR valve had come apart and fallen off. I put it back together and hooked it back up to the EGR Valve and when I put the charged battery back in it fired up first time and ran ok for 15mins. Changed the oil and filter etc. and ran it up and down drive a while, stopped and started 4 times in total and fired first time every time. Hopefully problem solved, until the next one! Felt well chuffed.

    Cheers and Happy Camping,

    Bottsy.
