Hmm... Been camping at the weekend.

Toasty warm with the eber - very nice first evening (admittedly a long evening)
Second evening battery went too flat to work it half-way through.

Asking about, this seems par for the course, so that's a bit of a disappointment. :(

How do you get on with yours?

Ebers are worst but i would expect longer we have done 3 days with the propex on a lot
    on a 110amp/h battery

  3. Ive seen this a few times whilst camping now people running out of leisure battery power on the second night whilst running an erber or propex

SparkyWigs 110ah lasts him another half day so it's looking like you need 2 fully charged batteries to make it through a weekend. Double decker battery tray would block the air intake...

  5. You need to find a heater that doesent require a 12 volt input zed dude ;)

    Press the ignitor

Check the gas has ignited through the little window

Bask in lovely non noisy warmth regardless of battery condition

Ill try and dig it out this weekend and take some proper pics

Ive pretty much decided im going to give it a tidy up and check its condition and fit it to the bus

why don't you run a split charge and start the van up for a bit in the day when the heating isn't on to top the battery up and then it will last through the night? that's my plan if i camp off "hook up"

Got split charger but there's summut up as it didn't charge the battery at all on the way back and that was 180 miles. Fuses not blown. Maybe the dynamo just isn't up to it. When I get my new engine it'll have alternator but until then I think I need a trailer for batteries.

Sitting running your engine on a camp site is a no-no isn't it? I'd be peed off if someone ruined my peace and quiet revving an engine and I don't think 1/2 hour would get you more than another 1/2 hour of heater anyway would it?

I might look out for one like Para's... - could you do me a favour Mr Para and measure yours up? I could have instant eber warm up followed by a lasting heat from convector heater. I bet it uses far less fuel than a blown one as well.

  16. If you've got one of the earlier Ebers switched off a thermostat, they'll fire up the glow plug every time it comes back on. Best to have it running all the time.

Later ebers are a bit more clever and wind the metering and fan down rather than shutting off completely.

I had no idea but will try mine this weekend to see how it fairs. I know the Hangovers didn't have trouble during winter camp and they had theirs on a lot.
