eBay

  1. Has anyone else noticed that sellers on eBay want paying within a few hours of he auction end but then quote 4-6 working days for delivery? Are they charging stupid amounts of p&p to rent a tortoise to strap the item to so they can obtain such a slow delivery time?
I don't buy or sell much on eBay but what I have sold has gone out the same or next day

  2. It really annoys me when someone is buying something on eBay, they don't pay for it for days and keep me hanging around. Do you go into a shop and go "oh, I'll be back a week next Tuesday to pay for this"? I'll list a load of stuff at the same time (usually on free listings weekend) and as a private seller, I haven't got the time to keep going to the flaming post office every day just because another buyer has finally got round to paying. So I have despatch time set at 2 days to allow for several people to have paid to make my trip to the parcel depot worth my while.

If someone hasn't paid within a week, a start getting shirty with them, and eBay usually sides with me.

  3. What gets me is the blatant over charging on postage. I wanted an item and could have collected it because it was close however he would not let me do that, wanting £12 to post it. As this was a rare item that I needed I had to agree to the postage charges, only to find on arrival he had reused packaging from something he had purchased (I would have done the same) so no cost there and he had made over £8 profit on the postage costs.

  4. Ebay is a double edged sword. Theres some bargins out there, but a lot of rip off merchants. Can be a gamble sometimes but there are some good ebayes out there
