DVLA / Engine

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by 3TNC, Apr 21, 2014.

  1. Just a quick question for those of you who have changed your engines from the standard air power.

Have you informed the DVLA of this change and if so, what information do they need?

Only asking as my donor vehicle is arriving at the mechanics tomorrow and want to keep everything above board.

    Cheers all

  2. Displacement and engine number. If it's different in size to what was in there before inform your insurers too
    :)

  3. Yep, that's all I did. I supplied the receipt from the garage that performed the engine change as proof, although that didn't have the engine number on it.

  4. Excellent, only thing I see being an issue is its a friend doing the swap so could I get an independent to do the report on it and send that to them?

  5. Yes, that's what i had to do, the engine was already in but the v5 hadn't been changed

  6. Yep, engineer's report will be fine.

  7. Cheers guys - probably get an answer from DVLA in about 18 months!! :D

@baybirmingham - I should be able to provide 2 from that list so hopefully that should suffice.

Will definitely take copies of all that I send - just in case and not that I dont trust them of course!!!
