Dubfreeze no more!

Just seen on fb that Dubfreeze ltd has cancelled next year and packed up for good!
Shame as always enjoyed this first event of the year, Dazza’s eyebrows being a particular highlight

I was surprised that this year's event happened at all as the organiser was pretty fed up the year before. I seem to remember spending about an hour listening patiently to his grievances.

There will be more events like this stopping forever unfortunately.

But the gaps will leave openings for something like it but run by a fresh set of organisers.

NO MORE VW OWNERS KARAOKE IN THE BAR!

Look on the bright side.

I am rather sad about it at the moment, no excuse to drive through a storm for a wet campout.

Gone like most vw shows
Gone have the chilled out air cooled people relaxing and getting on and turned into the T4/5 neck tattoo drinking at breakfast while shouting at kids over the drum and bass.

Or TE, tho that can get a bit raucous on Friday evenings.

 

It was rubbish really but was the light at the end of the tunnel of the winter break. Been going there for as long as i can recall, at least 20 years!, so .. bit sad!

 

I've been a few times , I think in the late 90s/early 00s , certainly way before I was on here or even had a computer !
I liked the chilled vibe of the event and dispite my dislike of VW shows and the whole 'scene' back then I alus spent a few quid on bits and met up with friends from the Lakes so it was a decent day out . Can't say I'll miss it as I've not been for almost 20 years, but I seem to remember they got bigger and changed the dates from February to November or visa versa ??

They had two a year for a while, then consolidated on the February one a few years ago. I won’t miss the show, but I will miss the camping.

that turned into the biggest chavfest on the planet

 

don’t mind it (apart from 3 night shifts in a row in the London Underground at Glastonbury 2 years ago) but when your camping and chilling with friends you don’t want a load of T4/5s trying to out do each other playing different tunes while shouting at each other in the morning.
