  1. just in the process of changing the drive shaft boots , new bolts suplied (20 ?) but no locking washers
Will new split locking washers do the job or do thay have to be the special wrinkly ones that that were on originally.
Hope someone can help soon, hoping to go away tonight.

  2. i had same situ. mate (why not supply em or at least inform you at time of purchase?) anyhow rant over , i was left to refit the ones i had removed, also as i have said on a recent other post , and this is sooo my!! decision! but-having read on so many sites re bus shafts/cv joints coming off whilst travelling, that what is to me a low torque setting ,? i decided to REALLY tighten mine , and checked and rechecked at 50/100 kms intervals , hope this helps , done mine approx 300 kms ago and are ok

  3. Thanks for replie ! I think i will fit split washers and tighten as tight as poss and order new washers and change again as soon as poss . don't really trust split washers long term. Only got a few short trips to do before MOT on Thursday.

  4. Best to use new proper washers when you can (there is a name for them, I forget). Degrease the bolts so there's no grease underneath them, make sure the spreader plates are there then torque them up to (from memory) 28 lb/ft. They won't come off, honest.
