Door mirror replacement

  1. HI/HELP
I'm about to fix a new door mirror and want to know if there's a captive nut on the inside of the door skin or will the nut/washers and gubbins drop inside the door when I remove the existing mirror. In other words, will I have to remove interior handles and door card to fit new mirror????

  4. Don't bin the old mirror. The threaded portion of some new mirrors is too short and won't catch the thread if a plastic washer is used.

  5. I bought a tap for the thread and just cut the thread longer. This meant it would catch the captive. This was on the so called best quality Volksburg West ones.
