Can anyone help with the name of the plate that the front door bolts screw into. It’s located in the A pillar and mine has had the thread stripped! Any idea where I can get one or how to repair?
I had to repair that on mine as it had done the same thing! There's a bit of write up on it here which may be useful (its a bit of a way down that post): http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/a-restoration-for-iris.53455/page-57#post-1444049 I ended up carefully removing the old plate by drilling out the spot weld and fitting a newly fabricated plate. There are possibly easier ways of doing this (rivnut, tapping it take a larger bolt) but this approach seemed to be the correct and most honest way of doing it.
