Door Cards with vents

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Lofty, Apr 16, 2013.

  1. Has anyone bought any door cards lately that include the cutout for the door vent and with holes in the correct place for the foam armrest/grab handle ? I have been looking around and they all seem to be for non vent and small 'strap' grab handle. I know I could cut them but if I can buy them ready to go it would save a little time.

Edit: Should have said I needed the blank cards for DIY trimming.

  2. Lofty I bought mine from eBay and the guy was very helpful and gave me various options. I'll try to search for his username.

I decided to lose the door armrest in lieu of the grab handles for the retro look!

  3. Blank cards should have the vent holes pre-marked/cut. You need the vents!

If you've got the foam armrests - much better than the grab handles IMHO - you may need to drill an additional hole for one of the mounting screws. You'll also need to bung up one of the oblong holes for the grab handles before covering them.

  4. Your right about the vents. I had both trims off at the weekend and found one side had the vent open and the other did not. The one with the vent was dry inside but the other was a little damp.

I used this guy for my door cards and kick panels. They're good quality although not covered or fitted them yet.

  6. Got my last set for my prototype bay from heritage, just plain laser cut mdf boards with all the holes and knock out sections you need for correct handle placement and heater vent.

Then I took them to the trimmers and job done.

  7. Cheers Sharpey. They look ok. I'll drop the guy a line.

Dont be put off buy all the mini junk, this guy knows what he is on about and knows what's what around a bus' trim.

I bought seat trim and door cards from this guy for my 71 really well priced, great service. He supplied door card blanks too and trimmed them.

    Hope this helps.

  9. Just to say I didn't buy the whole set. He separately quoted me just for the bits I needed.
