Door cards behind units

  1. I am gearing up to replace my interior, possibly in the spring. Does anyone bother putting door cards behind units that are floor to window height? It would save me a few pennies.

I don't think anyone does, why would you?

  3. I didn't know if they would protect the units more in any way

  4. Plan for our cooker unit is to have it removable for when we're using the bus for things other than camping, so the big panel does now have a card that wasn't there before.

If we weren't going for the removable option then not much point having a card you don't see.

  5. I wouldn't bother with trimmed vinyl cards as such, but I'd definitely put a liner between the units and the side of the van...especially if you're insulating beforehand

It helps keep the noise down. I didn't put any behind mine and wish I had.

  7. I've ply lined behind my units to hide the insulation and to run the conduit for the electrics on. Hopfully it will keep the noise but a bit. They came in the kit so I thought why not.

I put some behind mine (I only have one full height unit).

    I did it because:
    • The original Westy ply was knacked and painted the wrong colour.
    • I had a full set of vinyl ones for much cheapness.
    • I was better than having a piece of nothing there.

  9. I put some behind my units when we replaced the interior.

    Noise & Insulation reasons.

  10. I have recently taken out the units in my bus and the PO did put them behind them, all door cards match because he decided to do it properly. If and when I do the interior again, i will do the same, it saves a lot of time in the long run!

  11. without wishing to sound like a metaphysical pedant....you can't have a piece of nothing

Were metaphysics based on fact rather than the thought of fact I'd be with you.

How about we agree that in the absence of something you have nothing...can you have several instances of nothing or is it one big nothing?

If it can be counted, then it can exist surely? :)
