So I don't do gardening but I was left with a lawn which had sadly reached my knees. Once it gets that long you know you're in trouble. So today as part of my 'sort my life out campaign' I decided to cut the grass. The poor dog had started to disappear everytime I let her out. I often worried that she wouldn't find her way back to the back door (its only a very small garden). So out came the lawn mower. It got plugged in and straight away I realised it was going to be hard work. The grass was too high for the mower. So I spent ages walking the mower through the grass to cut it because you couldn't just push it. Blooming nightmare. Then had to go over it again. It still looks awful but I will no longer be at fear of losing the dog. My arms are killing me and it hurts to write this post perhaps I should have a day off work Does anyone really like gardening? They must be nuts
I hate gardening. I would describe my style of gardening as "extreme gardening' or "guerilla gardening". What I do is wait until everything has grown out of control, then borrow my neighbour's petrol-powered strimmer and hack it all back. This is fun because I can usually wander around, revving the bejesus out of the strimmer with a wild expression on my face like I'm Mad Max. The other advantage this tactic has is that you only need to do this about once every 2-4 months, depending upon the weather conditions and the season. Unfortunately with the wet and warm weather we have been having for the past few months, everything in my garden has been growing like it's on steroids.
I don't like actually doing it but I love the end result. We don't have grass in our back garden (not practical with a houseful of large dogs...) so I have to do *something* to make it look decent. We end up with hanging baskets with dangly flowers and anything else the dogs can't reach to eat or stand on and I love it when it's all colourful and pretty ;D Have to say though, that we've not bothered (yet) this year :
I do when i have time , i have been gardening all day today and wanted to do other things , but yes usually i enjoy it .
burn it i hate gardening I’ve done the front last monday but that’ll do cos it grows slow spent the morning hacking the back lawn down and cleaning pond filters looks better now god woody do you take photo s of EVERYTHING
i like gardening - i cut the grass today - first time in 3 weeks that i have been able to due to the rain ... looks nice out there now
Afraid to say that I actually do enjoy gardening, it can be hard work at times, but is always very rewarding! And growing your own veg is really rewarding, you cannot beat the taste and the kids really enjoy helping and eating things straight from the garden! Mowing the grass is like hoovering indoors, if thats all you get done it still makes the place look soooooo much better!
I don't mind it. Especially the building a new garden although the day to day tasks like weeding bore the living s.................. out of me. If it involves using power tools I really enjoy it ^-^
hate it, the whole of my front is block paved and i'd have the back done too if i could...... love to see a nice garden, don't get me wrong, but doing it? nah there's always a repeat of top gear on dave if you're that bored....
Drearrrrrrrrrrry gardening! I hate it, Have a massive garden that takes an hour or more to mow and I despise it, I could honestly spent a whole day every week doing stuff in that garden but I don't. Ever. Lol P.S I'm in Bodmin, if any of you Green fingered types want to play with it...the garden that is
