I think they look ridiculous, as well as being difficult to navigate in the dark and whilst *******ed. O0

  3. These are quite popular in Australia. On the roof it keep the bugs, critters and snakes out. I can't see much point of them in the UK though. Do like 'em though.

It's a long way down after a night where many beers have been consumed & you need to go ::)

  5. Roof tents are very popular with 4x4 owners on overland expeditions

  6. Considering one for the back of the westy for the kids. Can sleep two and would be accessible via the elevating roof. We need an option for when the boys to big for the cab hammock. Tent or awning is an option but would worry about security.

  7. That would be a blast watching people try to get out when it starts to blow away in our gale force winds

  10. There were a few at Glastonbury last year. They looked quite good and it was amusing to see a neat line of wellies at the bottom of the ladder.

  11. I had one for a few years - initially on Series Land Rover then a Rangie. Bought mine second hand and it still looked like new when I sold it for as much as I bought it for - £500. They hugely expensive new! I don't think the quality of the one you're looking at would be the same - try Ezi Awn or Howling Moon - you'll be looking at well over £1000!

They are quickish to erect - but a bit of a faff to get the 'extensions' out - you need to be built like a Gorilla and have the same climbing ability :) They are as said a long way up and navigating up and down at night for a pee turns ino a bit of challenge - especially if under the influence >:D They sway around in the wind - pretty narrow inside - black as black thing when zipped in. They knock you MPG and Speed down and once on best left on as they weigh a fair bit!

I loved it ;D And I never got attacked by Wild Animals, bitten by a Snake or whatever in the UK. Saw one a top a Bus at Camperjam last year - looked kinda of neat 8)

  12. I love em!
