Dissappointed.

  1. Took the hound for a long walk this morning through the country lanes and woods. Not one copy of Mayfair/Club International/Playboy thrown in the hedgerow and no cassette tape unraveled for miles. Whats wrong with people these days. I thought retro was in.

Not as much roadkill to see these days either. This will have an effect on scavengers

The dumps are shut round our way.

  8. Fly tipping is starting around here as well.
I'm a couple of miles fro Harewood House, a centre for red kite reintroduction. The last count, a couple of years ago was 258 pairs within a 10km radius. Was just saying other day with the lack of roadkill the ground nesting birds will be taking an even harder hammering than normal. :(

A pub close by serves the local wildlife as it's 'special' dishes.
They mentioned the pub in my daughters class and she said to the teacher "oh, they sell roadkill" after hearing me and Mrs C joking about it :D

Some idiot near us has poured what looks to be about 3 litres of dirty engine oil down a road drain and left it in a right mess

Ive reported it to the Environment Agency who are going to get it sorted.

Bit lazy really as we have a Waste Recycling facility a mile away which accepts used oils / fluids

Abandoned 50cc mopeds, were the things we used to find in hedges, around here, in the early 80’s. Found a 3 wheeled Isetta once. Down Vallis Vale, our local nature walk. And a Robin Reliant, in the river.Wish I had it now!
