Dimensions - 1979 rear end setting

  1. From a simple hinge leak on roof the rear of a 1979 Super Viking has had to be cut but how do I set it factory dimensions? below is what is set but is this right. Engine lid is 950mm wide so I have a 5mm gap either side which seems OK - is that right though?

  2. @Nicolasticity did you weld a brace in before you cut the section of roof out?

  3. IMG_0886.JPG Yes I welded a brace across the window at mid position between the side and roof cut. I used a 1mm sheet and not a 2mm angled section which is what I braced with when I cut the floor out of my midget. On the left side I have some wood support but the window and roof is OK so it cantilevers on the RHS only.

I have also measured the roof cut height and it seems that because the Viking roof created 4 inch of rot around the rear hinge that the RHS corner has dropped albeit a very small amount. I intend to trial fit the roof at the weekend and I have created several marked plum lines for position and Ill use a long spirit level to ensure roof gutters align.
