  1. No that’s not a typo.
Just seen on the news that’s what a garage in Chelsea is charging this morning.

other people reporting that garages are switching off the price signs.

    this is gonna get stupid.

£1.69 yesterday morning in South Birmingham, the day before it was £1.55!! The annoying thing is that there isn't a shortage of fuel, and we don't get much oil from Russia.

  3. More profiteering.

  4. That is steep.
Sydney is paying $1.80 - $2.10 for 95 octane here

    Around £1.10??

A similar rip off if you are on a Green/Renewable Energy tarrif for your gas n electric - the energy company has to buy it in at the same price as the wholesale for oil/gas/farts/nuclear

Damn! I was planning on using my beetle instead of the van, thinking petrol was cheaper.. fecking oil companies have us by the dangly bits don’t they

Maybe it’s all a plan to get us all to buy milk floats

To charge at home using ever more expensive elec?
TBH the cost of fuel is still small compared to replacing your ICE car with an electric one.

  10. Heating oil is the one that’s gonna be a killer. I know one guy who paid £280 for a fill up last year (prices were lower than normal due to reduced demand). He’s just been quoted over £900 for the same amount.

It’s just profiteering atm. At least the home energy sector has a governing body of sorts and are raising sing their prices when the new rates are being paid to the supplier unlike the garages who are simply putting prices up to suit their greed!

  13. I just paid £1.68.9 for diesel
It felt like I had won the football pools
Been driving much slower today although to be honest it made all of 5mpg difference

Most garages have maximum once a week fill up so how can prices rise daily?

  16. The two supermarket garages I popped into today neither had any diesel they were advertising much cheaper than the other garages. So quite possible its them taking advantage of the situation.

Saw petrol at £1.79 a litre at a garage in Frome today.
    I think it’s ‘Artisan’ petrol though…
