Devon Conversion Window fitting

Discussion in 'Camper Conversions' started by jason meadows, Aug 28, 2013.

  1. Hi , New here so I hope I have posted this in the right place.

I have a devon conversion and I amstruggling to fit the side windows .

Obviously with it being a converted panel van there is no recess for the window to butt upto and this is where I am struggling .

Managed to get the front and rear screens in no problem , but only got one side window in with the help of my father but that took us over 2hrs of carefully prising rubber over with a screwdriver , tried the rope trick but just could not manage it
(used rope trick on front and rear and that was a doddle)

So what I am asking does anyone please have any tips or does anyone know of someone in the Leicester area that does a mobile service . I have the glass and new rubbers

    thanks in advance

  2. First and most obvious question is have you got the correct rubbers for a converted panel van? - they are different to the ones used on Kombis and Microbusses.
What conversion is yours btw a Sundowner?

  3. Silver

    Silver Needs points/will pay!

2hours is an excellent time for conversion glass. Keep up the good work.

  4. Yes I have the correct rubbers , originally I bought the wrong ones but have now got the ones that take the rubber beading after fitting , One window we have managed to do but it was a pain in the A*** so need to know if there is an easier way . I am not sure on the coversion all I know is that it is devon
