Dash air vents

  1. Quick question. What is the diameter of the round dash air vents?

I'm thinking of trying to find some speakers to fit in there rather than the vent. I don't want speakers in my kick panel or door so thought it might look pretty swish in the vent.

The other question is can the vents be closed off, and if so how, so that I don't have air rattling the speakers from behind...

  2. You might be able to get speaker in the holes I'm not to sure on the size but as for the blowing air on to the speakers just take the pipes off the back and blank were they come from. .
Mine does not have any pipes on the vents , god knows why

You won't get anything bigger than a tweeter in there. I've done this + removed the vent pipes. It's a Deluxe microbus so has vents in the rear bulkheads as well, I've got 3" combined pointing backwards through the holes also with the vent cover (chopped inside) hiding them.

  4. Thanks guys, damn...I'd spotted some 3.5" speakers on eBay that I thought might just squeeze in. Going to have to come up with a new plan...

I applaud you for atempting to hide the speakers. Obviously a gentleman of taste and refinement. :)

Mine goes tweeters, 3", 10" powered sub. I have managed to hide everything and reggae sounds the dogs, but there's a big gap in the sound where 5-6" speakers should be for other musical genres.
