Darcys 4th Anniversary...

Today is Darcys 4th Anniversary post amputation. :mwave:

She was diagnosed with bone cancer 4 years ago today and our choices were to put her to sleep or remove her front right leg. Thankfully we decided on the latter even though we were advised that Darcy would probably only live for another 6 months or so (Osteosarcoma is a very nasty type of bone cancer)

Defying all the vets, 4 years on and Darcy is still with us and we are having am afternoon tea party to celebrate. :smiley_dog_kiss:







If you are Facebook, we put together a video montage of Darcy on her journey from puppyhood to adulthood and showing her fight against osteosarcoma (diagnosed on 16th October 2007) and her subsequent amputation and chemotherapy (which made her fur fall out). But then it grew back, prettier than ever...

great news marc, just shows hope and fate is better than listening to the experts sometimes, i had a cat with 3 legs once, it's amazing how they adapt.

 

Great to hear she's still going strong Mark.

Like you, I am a dog nut and would do anything for our two.

 

As a dog lover too, i'm please to her she is still doing well.

Just watched the facebook montage, cheers thanks for that just had me blubbering like a two year old. :-[ :-[

 

im sure its the love and company thats helped darcy through all of this, well done darcy and family.

awe what a sweet and happy thing to hear happy anniversary darcy may you have many more *hugs* .....do you have those pink winalot dog shapes...ive eaten one of those as a kid ..

That little video always makes me end up in tears, but I still watch it everytime it's posted.

Darcy's Anniversary Tea Party has ended and all the guests have gone home. Our dogs are fast asleep and a great afternoon was had by all.

I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did.

Paradox - no, it was baby Wellington (who's now 9 months old) who we had at Camper Jam
