  1. original Danbury interior.

Worth anything to anyone? I will be pulling it out of my camper this week. If I can keep it all in one piece is anyone interested in it? It will come with the original cooker and sink which may be of use to someone.

    Location: mid Devon
    Thank you

  4. It seems a tragedy to get rid of a classic interior that is part of the history of the vehicle. Those old wooden interiors can be restored fairly easily with sanding, a coat of varnish and a few repairs. I have even recently laminated new tops for my old Devon interior. It's so much nicer to be sitting in a little piece of period charm rather than yet another Rusty Lee/Dometic combination. IMG-20200502-WA0002.jpeg IMG-20200502-WA0000.jpeg

Well personally I don't like any of the old 70's layouts, it's the van itself I like.
The Danbury cooker looks ace though. I've never seen one before, it would have been perfect for my 68.

  6. Agreed , looks period

My first van was a `68 , great Devon OAK interior and a Dudley cooker similar to :-

    dudley1.jpg

With a full surround and plate warmer .

Swapped in the mid `90s as i needed reliable wheels :(

For , of all things , a Metro

Save the interior would be my advice - you won`t find another ..

    :hattip:

  7. I understand what you’re all saying but i’m not really a big fan of 1970’s plywood interior’s and the layout won’t really work for us.
I would also be a bit concerned about it from a safety aspect. My 3 and 4 year olds will be travelling in the bus alot so I would rather they were strapped into a solid metal framed seat bolted to the bus rather than a flimsy bit of 45 year old plywood held in with a few screws. I know a t2 will never be as safe as a modern camper but I will try to improve the safety of it where I can while trying to keep the original charm of the old bus.

  8. I agree with you about strapping the kids in. I did modify mine to bolt in a r&r bed and add seat belts.

  9. I still have this interior taking up room in my garage. Is anyone interested in this for £50? I need to get rid of it within the next week or so. It could be used as a template, restored or just used as is.
