As Daffy is used for camping with two small children we have not yet spent to much time on the interior trim.
Plans for over the winter months are to treat any rust underneath and repaint were necessary. Hoping to get a night heater fitted along with a new exhaust and towbar. Need a small trailer to help with much needed supplies when camping.

    Hope you like Daffy. :)

  8. Hi.

Took the van out for a bit over the weekend.

Great for getting the kids bikes in, much easier than trying to get into the boot of the car.

Had this come last week, can add fitting this to my list of jobs i want to do over the winter.

  9. Hi all. Thought i would give u an update with Daffy.

Fitted the heater. After a few a problem getting the heater to work,I got the heater sorted, after a quick phone call to propex, it turns out due to me cutting down the inlet flue, just a little bit was enough to throw the system out of balance.

Changed the exhaust for a standard backbox, The Empi gt backbox not only looked a bit out of place, but due to it sticking out quite a bit from the rear of the bus we was worryed about our two little girls touching the hot exhaust when we are unloading the van.

Gave the brakes a good looking over. As the handbrake was not holding on any sort of a hill. New handbrake cables were fitted. As the one side as had a new back plate fitted the new cable did not want to fit into the backplate. Used a small belt sander to take a few mm off the cable to get it to fit.

Inside fitted new door cards from Newton commercial c/o JK. Great fit, makes your fingers sore trying to line up all the metal clips on the back.

As we havnt fitted the cooker into the unit we decided to fit some shelves in to the place for the hob. Gives a little bit more storage

We went down to Bustypes. Used our new awning we picked up cheap.

We are building a trailer to help take some of the weight out of the rear of the bus when we got all the camping gear in.

Added some locks to the rear since the photo was taken.

  10. As we were planning to go to vanwest we had packed the van ready to go before we got the news it was postponed, we thought we may aswell take up the offer Broadway house camp site in cheddar were offering
    [IMG]

It was our daughters birthday thats why we have balloons on the awning.

Had a great weekend, weather was great.

  11. Hi. Spent the day painting the trailer today.

Stripped down the trailer, gave all the metal work a rubdown.

Spent a couple of hours giving it a couple of coats of paint.

We are going with the idea of painting the arches yellow to match the van. Also painted the cross bar underneath. Not sure if we are going to keep the arches yellow. ???
Heres an idea of how it will look, What you think?

  12. Hi all.

Been busy over the weekend making the tow bar for the van. Due to the fact that we rebuilt the chassis legs on the van and due to the engine coming from a t25, we was not too sure about buying a ready made towbar due to these factors a ready made towbar may not fit.

We used the bumper mounts to go off for the base of the tow bar.

After much measuring and welding this is what we have came up with.

This how it looked with the bumper refitted.

It needs painting, it has only been put into primer. Fitted the ball today.

Going to sort the electrics tomorrow. The trailer is coming along slowly.

Hope to finish the lights and a bit of painting tomorrow. Have painted the whole thing with rustolem used a roller. Not happy with the finish on the wheel arches.

Painted them yellow to reflect the van a little. Could really do with some warm weather to dry the paint a little, i want to rub down the arches before adding any more paint.
