Cv joints/driveshafts

Silver Where from please?

 

bigrich at Coolair, only got them a couple of weeks back. £11.63 + VAT unless he has a soft spot just for me!

 

That's with TLB discount I imagine. On site at £15.50. Even 10 years ago they were £35.

Check the brakes first though, I once changed my CV joints only to find it still did it and it was the brakes,

 

in what way was it the brakes Dave? binding and the shoes jumping?

 

Just needed adjusting, made a clicking noise that sounded just like the CV joints, like I said if you drive it slowly when its clicking and gently pull on the hand brake a bit see if the clicking changes or goes if it does adjust the brakes.

A joint for £ 13 Sorry it's got to be rubbish , they're making a profit on that as well .

If you take off you original cv joint it will have a date stamped into it and LOBRO

 

£43 for a boot i thought i was a kit for that price!

 

I bought one of these last year and its already split. Ive glued it up fron now and bought a GSF one (the more expensive one) Got my CVs from GSF about 4 years ago and been fine. (Not auto ones though)

 

When I removed my drive shafts because the boots were manky I found the joints were completely shot and almost bone dry. So worn I could to believe it, and they made NO unusual noises! Crazy. Anyway I got my replacements from GSF. Quality units with nice flexible boots (still are a year later) and the proper grease.
