Cutting out under hard braking

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by [:DSbS:], Jul 16, 2016.

  1. Every so often my engine cuts out completely when I brake hard. Anyone had this happen to them? Any suggestions as to the cause or the cure?
    Thanks in advance, Nik

  2. Have u a servo ?

  3. Umm. I don't think so. As far as I remember (I'm in the pub and haven't looked under the van for a few days) the brake pedal just connects to the master cylinder.
If I did have a servo where would it be?

  4. On the front beam I think.

  5. Type of engine? If a type 4 check balance hose from airbox to carb. If connection not good erratic tick over and cutting out will occur. BTW check check for air leaks all round.

  6. you have a air leak...

    and you have a servo....;)

Ordinary brakes do not connect with the engine....:hattip:
