Cutting out under hard braking

Every so often my engine cuts out completely when I brake hard. Anyone had this happen to them? Any suggestions as to the cause or the cure?

Have u a servo ?

 

Umm. I don't think so. As far as I remember (I'm in the pub and haven't looked under the van for a few days) the brake pedal just connects to the master cylinder.
If I did have a servo where would it be?

 

On the front beam I think.

 

Type of engine? If a type 4 check balance hose from airbox to carb. If connection not good erratic tick over and cutting out will occur. BTW check check for air leaks all round.

 

you have a air leak...

and you have a servo....

Ordinary brakes do not connect with the engine....
