I know there has been a lot of discussion on 12volt setups lately. Just noticed the MXS 5 is on a lightning deal on amazon at 11am for prime members and 30 mins later for non-prime. Current price is £58.45 so it will be less than that. Might be worth keeping an eye on if you are looking for a decent charger.
Been on since wednesday last week in the run up to black friday. Big link off the homepage: http://www.amazon.co.uk/b/ref=br_im..._rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=761819327&pf_rd_i=desktop
Yup seems a good buy, I'd get one if it I didn't already have one Was hoping they might discount the 7 or 10 as well but unfortunately not this time
Great Shout! Not a prime member n just bagged one. As i see it at that price its got to be better than nothing & I only need it for a starter battery, I will worry about a higher capacity leisure battery charger when/if I buy one.
The deal is open to the masses now: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FC42HAA?ref_=gb1h_img_m-4_5987_9e78f0d0&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE You must be pulling a fair bit of power if the 5 wont cope. I'd have thought a 110ah battery and the 5 amp charger should keep up with a lot of stuff as things like fridge, heating etc are not powered up all the time
I paid £50 for my MXS 5.0 from Tanya batteries in March 15 so the discount doesn't seem as big as they suggest.
I use mine on my leisure battery. Only used for lights and proped so far but not had an issue. Planning on a compressor fridge next year but looking at the average draw the 5amp should cope fine
i had a 7 in the westy, admittedly the fridge was a big drain but it barely kept up if we had lights on radio on as well etc..... i want to future proof the t5 and get a 7 or 10 but at that price.....
LED bulbs are a big help on saving power, our draw went from 3.88amps to 0.55amps. Having those with a modern fridge would probably be a big saving on the current draw
agree totally, i had way too much off my leisure in the westy and as i say the fridge was the original and i know the draw on that was huge...... to be fair i'd probably be ok with the 5 but i dunno......
a quick look on evil bay and you can get a 5 for £50 so to save a fiver and buy for the sake of it is what i'd be doing...... i think i'll wait until i get all my electrics in and get a 7 or 10 as planned.
