I’ve had one of the VS ones for a few years and it works very nicely. Looks closer to stock than a Berg. Mine hasn’t got the flange thing under the shift knob. Not sure what that’s for?
That's good to hear! Reading up on the Vintage Speed website, its a reverse gear lockout Hmm, I'm tempted!
Thats interesting! On my one you pull the stick upwards to select reverse. Just pulling up the lockout would be a nice improvement to an already very good shifter. I did the front shift bush and the shuttlecocks too so my bus shift is really nice these days
Majors can be an interesting gearchange at times, all of the parts in the set up are original (I think) which I will refresh as we work on the engine & gearbox. Maybe next year then
You should see a benefit even now of a shorter throw. The front bush is a five minute job. I had the engine out so thought the shuttlecocks worth a go.
all of the bits of bodywork around the bushes n shuttlecocks needs sorting so that will be an ideal time to refresh all of the bits, gearbox will be out too, make things easier!
..what do you reckon about bug-tech shifter vs csp vs gb?..Im really tempted to get one of those one day..at this moment bug tech wins for me Wysłane z iPad za pomocą Tapatalk
I have managed to modify my EMPI to work pretty well. Narrowed the gate by about 2mm with a steel strip welded on. Now theres just the trick of changing down to second and managing to hop the gate by pushing the stick left too hard and then back. It catches on the reverse lockout plate and pushes it out of the way. Not recommended.
I use a Bugtech shifter and its epic! looks and ease of gear change, best thing i have brought for mine hands down.! but yeah Berg otherwise! leave VS and Empi well alone!
