At last, with a clear sky, got a good view of comet Neowise last night.

If anyone wants to see it, it's currently a bit below the plough constellation. It can just be made out with the naked eye but binoculars give a better view. Anytime after 11.00pm when it's dark enough to see it.

I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords from the planet Styron in the galaxy of Andromeda.

You won't see it in Oz. You'll need to go back to Scotland, if Nicola will let you in!

  9. Is this the one they thought was an asteroid? Can we go out now?

Caught it last night with the telescope. Just a faint fuzzy blob now.
Watch out for it in 6,800 years time!

Jupiter and Saturn are quite watchable in the south just now.
