Hi there TLB'ers just after a bit of help to identify which clutch kit i need to get for my bus after breaking my pressure plate at the weekend. i've measured the diameter of the friction plate and the mating face of the pressure plate & they're both 200mm. i'm running a 2.0 type 4 engine coupled to a 1800 box. the engine case is out of a 914 and has been rebuilt at some point (don't know if that makes a difference?). this is a picture of the pressure plate that came out, if it helps? Sorry if this is a bone question, but i'd rather get the right one first time & there seems a lot to choose from. thanks in advance, your advice is appreciated. Gus.
In case of incorrect clutch, measure the flywheel - the dia of surface the clutch action takes place on.
when i placed the friction plate inside the flywheel where it sits, it was quite snug with maybe 5mm clearance tops around the outside edge of the plate & the flywheel, if that makes sense? can measure it in the morning to make sure though.
I don't know Zed? I've only gone on what came out of there, which doesn't mean it's right as I'm beginning to find out with most things camper related. I'll take some pictures & measurements of the flywheel tomorrow & get them posted. i think a PO has probably miss matched a flywheel/clutch combination which is what's confusing me.
Took some more pictures & did some more measuring. Here's the flywheel and the friction plate sitting in the recess of the flywheel. The internal diameter of the flywheel is 208mm if this is any help.
