Hi all. Had this for a while now but could do with getting it sorted. When pulling off, there is a clunk from under the van. New clutch fitted a couple of thousand miles ago, manual, 1700 type 4 engine. Anything obvious worth checking? Many thanks.
Have you got a towbar? It could be the exhaust catching it. Mine does occasionally when loaded or over bumpy ground.
Mine did the same, was the gearbox mount (just after a 'professional' had fitted a replacement gearbox for us!)
Does it always do it? Just wonderin' if it's the rear drum brakes (handbrake) breaking free after being slightly seized on.
The clunk is right at the end, almost after you've got the biting point just as you are pulling off.# #Funny enough, someone did change the 'box just after I had it, so will check all the gearbox bolts/fixings look ok/tight. No towbar, it's defo like a solid sound rather than something just catcking. Cheers peeps.
Check all your engine and gearbox mounts are nice and tight. Could be front mounts on the box have come loose or even missing
CV Joints? Get underneath it and waggle both driveshafts inboard and outboard, then see afterwards if it goes away for a while only to come back again.
