Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by chancee, Nov 28, 2014.

  1. Hi guys
Does anybody know of anybody who can repair a bay clock with the trip meter.
Tried holding the reset down whilst the vans moving that's not worked and the plastic cog seems ok
(Been looking at trouble shooting on line :)
    Cheers

  2. These if an early one is worth a mint , and quite rare ......they are simple though and a place like speedy cables would be able to fix ...plastic cog splits ....hardest bit is getting the needle off ....had mine apart to clock it to match old speedo so if your stuck you could post it to me

  3. is it just the trip that doesnt work - mine is a trip speedo and it would click the very end number up to 9 and then stop which was down to the little plastic cog cracking and not gripping the spindle - it is a hairline split which is hard to spot and was easily sorted with superglue...

  4. Yes just the trip meter is like its jammed solid but everything looks ok and nothing seems to be stuck in the cogs. When you press the rest button it has reset but the last cog the red one has not gone to zero it's stuck between 4 and 5
    Any ideas?
    Cheers Eli

  5. remove from instruments and try slowly turning to watch the mechanism spin round, seems odd to stop between 4 and 5 so perhaps there is a tooth broken off?

  6. Thanks alpha will have a look at the weekend
