Clock for dashboard

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Lardy, Mar 22, 2012.

  1. Am after a clock to complete the gauges display. Have speedo and fuel thingy just need the clock which I believe is the third one in the dash? Anyone have one for sale?

  3. They can go for silly money, type 3 clock can be fitted and is a cheeper option and still looks factory installed.

  4. Thanks, will have a look around.

  5. I've sold 2 late bay clocks in the past year and on both occasions stipulated that they were for collection only.
That way the buyers got to see them working as I'd connected them up to an accessory socket in my bus. I'm always amazed at the number of sellers who come out with statements such as "Don't know if it works or not". It only takes a matter of minutes to rig up some wires to test them. I usually take such statements to be code for "it doesn't work". So given the sums of money involved, I wouldn't, if I was you, consider anything that you don't know for certain works.
    Good luck!

  7. I sold a instrument panel with chrome dials and clock when I first got the bus for about £60, kicking myself now.

I picked up an instrument panel with clock and speedo an eBay last year for £105, which was a result as I wanted a MPH speedo too. I think you just have to keep looking. The cheap eBay ones are OK. They fill the space but they do sit a bit far forward compared to the genuine article.

    Good luck ;)

  13. Nowadays, expect to pay around £125 for the matching Delux clock. That'll buy you one which actually works (be careful with that too - there's plenty out there which don't work, which is why they're being sold) and in good condition. Don't spend anymore than that. There's lots of greedy folk out there who try and sell 'em for a lot more. I bought one a few months ago (off Sanba.com). It makes a dashboard look 'complete'. Thought about sticking a non-Bay clock or gauge in there before, but it just didn't look right IMO.

  14. I've picked this up very cheap.
Iis def originalas it has the right mark on the back but I think somebodys altered it to fit it into a beetle ore something, its all there ,no idea if it works.
I dont need it, does anyone want it?

  15. That's a Type 3 one - probably got the part number 311 919 203 A (or B) on the back.

i think i have a spare, will dig it out and test it., the £300 one on ebay is early and they are much rarer than the late ones hence the price, he may not get as much as £300 but people are interested in it ans someone may buy it.

  20. dont know if this helps but, i fitted a rev counter in the dash pod and a 52 mm VDO clock next to the Oil pressure and temp guage under the dash. it all looks cool and at a fraction of the cost of a clock that is really old and might not last long.
