Cleaning the flywheel ?

What's best to clean the flywheel face with before I refit the clutch?

Just degreaser spray?

 

Scrub it with Scotchbrite, then give the flywheel face a wipe with degreaser. Petrol will do.

 

I wouldn't use petrol .not good .
It has oil in it , .use Brake cleaner

 

I'd have thought that regular unleaded would work well, not 2 stroke mix though.

I tend to use panel wipe for jobs like this, or cellulose thinners.

 

Tears of 100 virgins works well.

 

We'd be lucky to find one around here, let alone 100.

 

Trouble when using those ...it brings all the cracks out

Give your pressure plate a wipe over as well. Then give your armpits a squirt of WD40.

I did (genuinely) use Hai Karate talc on my rear donuts.
