Cleaning the flywheel ?

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by volkswombat, Oct 6, 2016.

  1. What's best to clean the flywheel face with before I refit the clutch?

    Just degreaser spray?

  2. Scrub it with Scotchbrite, then give the flywheel face a wipe with degreaser. Petrol will do.

  3. I wouldn't use petrol .not good .
It has oil in it , .use Brake cleaner

  4. I'd have thought that regular unleaded would work well, not 2 stroke mix though.

I tend to use panel wipe for jobs like this, or cellulose thinners.

  12. Give your pressure plate a wipe over as well. Then give your armpits a squirt of WD40.
