  1. There's a place that did my wheels only a couple of miles away. They do vapour blasting so I'm taking it in for an estimate tomorrow. £60 an hour they say.

Just had a quote for valour basting the two halves of the crank case for £300 plus VAT - I decided to keep scrubbing by hand.

Any excuse to show my stock un molested engine. There is a no no though but original parts couldn't be sourced.

Set up a small water pump and put some warm detergent and water in a big bowl, and use it to rinse the engine case in the bowl while scrubbing with a brush.. a cheap parts washer... those plastic storage boxes for example.

Or use a dishwasher...slightly caustic detergent solution then copious rinsing all done automatically. Blow out galleries with compressed air..

For £300 you can make a pretty good parts washer or even grab an old dishwasher..

Do they bravely spoon the juices over the case?

I used a Dremel with wire brushes on mine, then prepped & painted

  7. Wow .. I decided my work needed a vixen Aquablast cabinet when I bought my 2l fuch . Although my work also needed a plasma cutter , milled TIG welder plus numerous other expensive bits of equipment
