Cleaning interior metal

  1. The seat bases/sides and internal arches on my walkthrough aren't covered by any mats or carpet (yet) and they've clearly picked up plenty of stubborn grime and stains over the years.

Is there a liquid or technique that people would advise for giving these a good clean up? Or perhaps more importantly, anything I shouldn't use to clean these areas?

Would a coat of paint help?

  3. I'd start by giving it a light rub with cutting compound like T-Cut or G7. Should remove a lot of the grime.

  4. I`ll be attacking mine over the summer . Never had cab mats , i`ll be giving them a good seeing to with an abrasive cleaner such as jiff and scotchbrite followed by 2 coats of black Rustoleum

    I’d just carpet them!

  8. Thanks for all the replies. I haven't got any good pics to hand but it's like a greasy, dried oil staining. I'll give it a good scrub and see what happens.

  9. Give it a scrub with white spirit or panel wipe. Should get the grime off.

Sometimes all it needs is washing with detergent. Then use T cut or Farecla.
