Cleaning/flushing old engine (not VW)

  1. My Tiger Cub restoration is progressing and we have now started to look at the engine. Good compression, selects gears, feels smooth so tempted to give it a go without a strip down.

Anyone know how I can flush the engine through, bearing in mind its a dry sump!!

  2. Ahhh - the lovely Tiger cub ...
Just fill the oil tank with the cheapest oil money can buy and connect the return pipe from the engine to a suitable catch tank / old oil tub . Turn engine over WITHOUT a sparkplug and pump the oil through the engine , running the system as total loss . When you feel brave enough reconnect the oil lines correctly and start the motor - hopefully all will be well
Another option is an inline oil filter ...

    :hattip:
