I'd like to flush the water tank and pipes on my Super Viking. Anyone done this? Any hints or tips? Anyone use it for drinking water?...I don't plan to, just asking. Jim
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Puriclean-W...UTF8&qid=1435872117&sr=1-2&keywords=puriclean I use this, mix in the water tank and swill around and pump through your pipes and tap. then thoroughly flush with fresh water.
i'm with pkrboo on the milton's, i also use it for sterilising my homebrew gear which works a treat just flush with clean water afterwards and you dont need loads of it....
Milton sounds good. I dare say you could use it for drinking after that but I wouldn't leave it too long between cleanings. If you boil the water like for tea and coffee that should be fine but if you want fresh drinking water I'd use bottled or tap in a small container. What's wrong with beer anyway?
Miltons for us too, Sterilze before winter stops camping (we still take it out but not for camping) and again before use in the spring. We use it for drinking water all the time (we get about 3 days from a westfy tank for the 4 of us) no odd tastes nobody sick. If it is kept out of the light clean water will stay good for months. You can use ordinary bleach its just about using the correct concentrate, I think its about 1 drop per litre to sterilize water for drinking more to sterilize the tank I guess.
milton then one of these for the season http://www.towsure.com/whale-aquasource-clear-in-line-water-filter-15mm
Is there a way to test water for drinkabiluty, I wonder? cos it would be handy to drink from it too, just assumed nobody would/did.
Find some one to chlorinate it, that'll kill off everything bug wise. It's what they do commercially to all potable water services. You'll also get a certificate confirming the system is safe to drink from.
Keep drinking it and your stomach should stay immune to most of the bugs in the water. I use milton tablets and dont often drink the water.. but then I used to swim in the sea at Herne Bay as a kid and that used to be dilute untreated sewage.
Interesting, looks like I could use it for drinking, didn't realise. That would be handy. http://www.elsan.co.uk/drinking-water-management.aspx Jim
