That Cavalier made me feel a bit unwell. Worse car my dad ever had, it looked exactly the same.

  5. My uncle had a Cavalier Commander special edition.

to this day I don’t think anyone has worked out what was so special about it.

  6. Wasn't Luton demolished by an earthquake yesterday?

  7. Yes - initial estimates are that £100 million pounds worth of improvements have been made.

  8. Awful news. I heard that several mosques were damaged beyond repair.

  9. My Father had a Vauxhall Victor 3 gears Volumn change, he didn't keep it long.
I had my first driving lesson in it.

    Courting controversy as usual Snotty...

...If you changed that to ‘structures of a variety of religious denominations’ you might have got away with it and ensured no-one felt left out

No, the destruction occurred a good few years ago, my observations though, in recent years the town has been boosted by, faster drug supply networks (quicker than calling a taxi), increasing fried chicken shops per capita, expansion of HMO ghettos including ‘beds in sheds’ and also a move towards increased participation in (I think it’s phrased - ‘community lead’) roadside fly tipping.

The small earthquake tremor from Sunday will not dampen the proud Lutonians mood of hope during this great rebuilding!

    Chicken for the People!

I almost bought a Cavalier once, ended up with a Cortina. How different my life might have been.

Bern went in the garage lots to stop fumes coming through the vents, never stopped it. He had traded a Morris 1800 for it that he never had a issue with.

  14. I saw that they were selling off a few of the Vauxhall classic collection whilst browsing yesterday. About 11 surplus cars were going. None to my taste though.
I have been scouting for a MK1 Astra GTE but I think there are only about 20 still on the road and about 150 SORN. Havent seen one for sale since 2016

Oh had/owned one of those back in the day. Never actually drove it though.

Before I even had a license. Bought for £500 sold for £500. Probably worth 10-15 x that now.

When I think of Vauxhall’s I think of kit cars. Now, Bedford trucks...

I’m afraid to say... it was rubbish. Vauxhall should be embarrassed. Mostly horse & carts (without the horses!)

Here’s some pictures. I expected more, so much more.

    Concept car....

    Another concept.

Apart from the carts, these were the ‘modern cars’ yes these are all Vauxhall’s had to show.

I was expecting Nova’s, Astra’s Cavalier’s Omega Tigra Etc. Etc.

    VERY POOR SHOW!!

  19. I think due to space they are rotating the cars on show every few weeks.

    that Bedford van is lovely

  20. Most of the drugs supply is from taxi drivers in Luton. When was the last time you saw a police car pull over a taxi late at night?
