  1. Thinking of changing instruments from guitar to Didj.
Anyone on here do it? and, is it that hard to accomplish?

A friend plays didj, he says it's easy but I've never managed to do it.
Anyway he's part Aboriginal so probably has it in his genetic make up (at least that's what he says :D)
Remember they are a mans instrument & women should not play one, according to Aboriginal law & tradition.

  3. Are you under the impression i'm a girlie then?

@Paley plays the didj really well, I'd like to learn to play one but failed miserably!

No, just saying that according to Aboriginal law & tradition they should not be played by women.

  6. My dad. Professional trumpet player in his day. Lots of practice is the answer.

  7. tried for ages, couldn't do it then all of a sudden one day I could, I have no way of explaining how to do it though

  8. I didn't realise the Trumpet demanded circular breathing? crumbs............

  9. Breath control is important for any wind / brass instrument and if you can circular breath to increase intervals or get through a long /awkward passage that's useful. It's down to skill level, 99% of people would never need it, but if you're at the top of the profession you need to be able to do everything.

  10. circular breathing is a pain to get the hang of and you soon forget how to do it if you don't keep at it. I used to be able to do it but gave up the didge for a while and now can't. I can still play the didge after a fashion but it's not the same without the circular breathing
