cigarette tray

hi

i have a new cup holder thing from Just Kampers. fits great but requires the tray to stay in.

my inner part (the tray) and outer part (the housing) pull out at the same time. is there meant to be a screw or clips in somewhere that holds the outer part in place?

 

is this hole a clue? do i secure it here with something?

this is the cup holder. only works if tray housing stays where it should!

The bracket has to be held in place, the forked bit slots over a seam/flange inside the dash. Then the outer bit with the screw keeping it clamped there.
Inner part will be scritchy to pull in and out, that's how they are.

OK i looked and there's a screw hole at the back of the outer part of the ash tray (no idea why i called it cigarette tray!) but nothing to screw into

is there meant to be a bracket like on the glove box?

 

i think its this im missing

 

any one got one of these lying around before i get fleeced!?

 

The more i look at this the more i think i can make one! it doesn't look very complex. Certainly not the 30 euros somebody wants for it (inc shipping)
