The old truck in the photo is my old Foden 2 stroke which i converted for timber pulling . Its not me in the pic ..he is the original driver back in 1969 . I bought it in 1989 .
Pressed apples which i went over and picked near Pembridge in Herefordshire a good mix of Dabinett ,Michelin ,Foxwhelp ,Yarlington Mill and some sharp ones to give it some wack .
Respect - should be nice stuff from real pressed apples. Have grow some mutton chop sideburns and start listening to the Worzels
Kits, beer or cider are just syrup really, always best from fruit, grains etc - much more interesting flavours I reckon
Whats next Mark ..is lots of bog paper with sprouts and cider ....if home made liquorice came into the mix things would get unimaginably messy .
Really impressive , Homemade cider is the best ! I remember going to an agricultural show in Thame , Oxfordshire as a kid and always having some Simmons cider. Enjoy but save some for a summer evening .
Sadly I think I overdone the cidre ! I moved onto lager and eventually finished my drinking career on Guinness .Homemade cider is so refreshing and really easy to drink and that's the mistake people make when drinking it for the first time. Most of us have a story about underestimating the strenth of Scrumpy .
You tried it yet? I made 120 gallons one year, as I had my dads Viggo press, scratter and all his Demi jones. My boys helped fill up a dozen garden trugs with apples from an abandoned orchard we scrumped. About 3/4 of it was drinkable, the rest was like battery acid, but it made copper shine if you left it in it. We kept a few gallons as apple juice and froze it for the winter.
Never tried a snakebite as pubs in town would not serve it . It always had a bad reputation and Skinheads favourite tipple if I remember correctly.
