Chrome engine bay latch (lockable)

Looking for a chrome engine bay latch, that is lockable, to replace my non-locking one.... wanting to keep out those unwelcome visitors!

I'd like to find a chrome one, as that's what my bus (1974) currently has, rather than the black plastic type.

Please give me a shout if you know of one.

You'd think that there would be a source out there wouldn't you. On my list of jobs to do as well so will be watching this thread!

 

Hi Phil it will be interesting if anyone comes up with a source, I want one too but had to put the black plastic one on ;( which obviously look rubbish up to the nice shiny ones! Good luck with the search.

 

New old stock VW are usually around the £60 mark -that is what my one cost me

 

Is the engine lid lock the same as the rear tailgate lock?

 

Keep an eye out at the Auto Jumble stands at the shows..!! I pick one up for £32 with 1 key and got one a spare key cut at the next stand for a tenner at Deva this year..!! :0)

My engine lid lock keeps coming completely out when I unlock it. I may be getting a new one shortly. Expensive, but necessary !!

 

if you've got a chrome non locking you can mod it from a plastic one
