September is officially chicken month. I know a few of you have chickens and was well documented before the crash.

Please post photos of you chickens (and other poultry) and where they live.

We're on a waiting list for some rescue battery hens.

I've got chickens. They live in the freezer. Coated in a fine recipe of 'erbs n spices'. I'm going to liberate some tonight.

  3. I love our chickens, they're lavender Pekin's, they live in school and have one of the most plush enclosures ever seen. We've got seating around the sides for the kids to sit and watch them and the 'ladies' (as they are collectively known) will sit next to the kids.

  9. Ours just live in the back garden in an Eglu. We had 6 originally, now we're down to 3. Last yr, we used to get 6 eggs a day, and sell them to all our neighbours! One died from being egg-bound, one froze to death in the big freeze last yr (not funny), and one had (we think) liver failure. The fox is a permanent feature on the top of our shed, making eyes at them (which drives the dogs insane!), so I dont think we'd replace them once we lose these 3.
