I agree with Birdy, but has to be said the cheap car market has hotted right up with every redundant person trying to make a few bob fixing up cheap cars. What was £450 a couple of years ago is now £600 etc etc

My parents spend most of there time in Europe/north Africa living in a motor-home
for when they are home they bought a pug 306 td for £500 3 years ago the thing gets abused left for months on end outside yet still starts first time. it goes like stink and still does 55mpg

  8. Just been through all this Para, We ended up with a pug 307 1.4 on an 04 plate with 25k on the clock, not my ideal car but it does what it says on the tin, its not too bad to drive (little bit gutless) big enough to carry 4, and cheaper road tax. Funnily enough it was because my old passat's mot ran out and that was doing about 20mpgs too.

What ever car you go for if it was made after 2001 this is quite handy for checking road tax costs http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/advice/road-tax-guide/

Its quite suprising with it being emission's based the tax difference even just getting a car with aircon makes
