Chassis Full Of Dust

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by Martin Jones, May 31, 2015.

  1. As you will have seen from our restoration thread the chassis on our bus is rust free, the only problem we have discovered is that it is full of Colorado dust, which is inches thick in places.I have spent the afternoon again today trying to get out as much as i can.My worry is that in our wet weather the dust will turn to mud and start to hold the damp in causing the chassis to rust from the inside out.Obviously I want to thoroughly wax oil it as well but no point until all the dust is out.Has anybody else had this problem with an imported bus and if so how did you the the chassis out.
    Thanks Martin

Best bet is to blow it out with an airline.

  3. Gaffa tape a bit of garden hose to the end of the hoover pipe to make a long sucky probe

What about jet wash. I don't think there are many box sections .Most of the chassis is open
Mine was full of arizona dust. Check inside doors as well.

  5. Thanks, all. Inside the doors was full. Also the heater pipe, engine bay, seats, dashboard, brakes... Everywhere really!
