Charachter assassination advice required

Hi folks,
I don't really know how to put this but I need advice about a couple of jokers who feel it is completely necessary to tarnish my good name on a thread where I offered heartfelt, pertinent advice to another tlb member that I thought was either having an episode or was slightly libated.
What should I do?
Should I report them to the relevent authorities or take matters into my own hands?
One of these jokers even intimated that I was involved in a spot of dogging in a hotel car park close to junction 29 of the M6!!!
It is simply outragious!
Advice needed please. Are there any charachter assassination experts out there?
Please help me weed these messers out!
