Carreglwyd Port Eynon The Gower

  1. Carreglwyd is a busy, beach-side Park on the South Gower Coast, overlooking the picturesque village and Bay of Port Eynon. The fifteen acre site is surrounded by steep cliffs to one side and magnificent coastline on the other, and accommodates caravans, motorhomes and tents of all sizes in five well-drained and maintained fields. You can't get any closer to the beach without being on the sand itself.
The 300 pitches are non-marked or specified, enabling visitors to choose their own spot in relation to the facilities and the beach. Two modern sanitary blocks serve the Park which comprise of toilets, showers, laundry and dish-washing areas. All daily needs are catered for at the on-site shop; groceries, camping accessories, hardware, beach goods and off-licence as well as gas bottles and appliances. Direct access to the beach makes this the perfect location for families, particularly those with young children.
You can almost guarantee that there will be a VW at the site probably a few, at peak times it gets very busy so book ahead.

  2. hi does anyone know if we need to book ? not sure how busy it gets at this time of year we should be around here a week tomorrow ?
    bek

  3. Looks a nice spot if a little busy.
    Thanks for sharing.

  4.
  5. Nice campsite. Well maintained and they keep a good eye out. One thing I didn't like about here though was the free for all pitches - we camped in our van a few years back only to get back from the beach and find we'd been surrounded and couldn't get our van out!

Stay clear if the weather is mega hot on a bank holiday week-end - they cram the place to the gunnel's and end up with water rationing
    ;D

  6. Just spent the week-end here, first time in a while. It was nice and quiet surprisingly
    :)

  7. I went to Swansea University and lived on the Gower for a while (in Kittle) there are loads of great beaches there: Three Cliffs, Caswell, Rhosilli etc. - it's a lovely part of the world.

  8. Chris is this the one at the bottom of port eye on ? If it is I would never go there again !!!! 4of us went there in the summer and we were banned within 5minutes of us being there .
The owner of the place was a complete idiot and very rude !!!!
We will never grace his site again which is a disapointment as it is probably the best camp site in the gower .
