    Here tis this conundrum, Mrs Ozziedog has had the decorators in to sort out our main bedroom. We’ve had it all repainted and filled and sanded within an inch of its life. It’s the same colour as before I think but what do I know? Anyway, here’s the issue. We now need a new carpet as the click lock flooring has suddenly become way way way tooooo cold, it wasn’t last week but it IS this week, it wasn’t when I fitted it five to ten years ago despite me saying it might be cold on her delicate little tootsies, then all of a sudden it’s cold, colder than ice even ;)
    Now accessing the various DIY forums the messages are fifty fifty as to whether you can fit carpet straight over a floating floor there’s as many saying yes it’s fine as there is telling you the world will end abruptly if you do. If I do, what’s the worse thing that can happen? If I rip it up it won’t take long but possibly a little gappy around the skirtings as I raised these a tad to fit on top of the click lock floor.

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, wot chya fink TLBrs

  2. Have you thought of moving house and not giving her your new address?

  3. Have you considered running off with a blonde lady with a large chest? That would solve the problem.

    It will be fine, the carpet won’t fall off , just nails the gripper rods with longer nails

    I've had many decades of similar mystification and I'm still none the wiser; the technical solution isn't the same as the emotional one. Can't help you there :(

    Don’t take it up. Get a big rug that covers most of it but still shows the floor at the edges.

    designer. Innit.

  14. I would rip up the floor...laminate always feels colder even if you carpet over the top. Get the carpet fitter to run the carpet under the skirting, fit the gripper rods for the carpet tighter to the skirting.

    Great answers one and all, got a nice little chuckle on then :D There’s already a bit of a gap (huge) under the door from the previous over enthusiastic carpet fitter so it may plug that somewhat. I hadn’t considered that the coldness may still be felt through the carpet :thinking:. Before I go and summon the carpet type chappie up the road, do we have any carpet fitting types on here that will supply and fit in very sunny Bristol BS15 ? Worth asking I think :)

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,so I still don’t know what to do , but,,, it’s gotta come up some time I guess :)

    Right then , whilst Mrs Ozziedog is up there doing her best to antagonise all the oldies in the care home , which I imagine is her version of sport :theforce: in her volunteering capacity. I think she plays blind mans buff with em then tries to trip them over. She also makes them cuppas and mostly she spills it down their fronts:gnome: I’ve no idea what she really does up there but I know they’re a bit short staffed at the moment and I’m guessing my Mrs thinks it’ll help if she annoys the oldies to save the staff from having to do it and it’s nice for them to have someone new to face in mortal combat, I’d imagine it’s a bit like ‘’ Gladiator’’ but in slow motion.
    So while she’s up there with her tickling stick I’m gonna rip up that clickety lockety flooring in the bedroom and the next time you might see it (if ever) will be at Techenders because it’ll be the new floor in the van, anybody close by want any for their bus ?

    Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, it’ll look great :):thumbsup::)
