Hi, posted in the wanted, looking for the large spring which goes from the carbs to the body on a type 4 engine. Does anybody know where I can get one from?
He means a blummin great (size) fairly weak spring like the one on this Picture. No idea where to get one though - Laurie Pettit fitted mine.
That looks like the one I fitted to mine 4 years back Still works fine though now has a proper bracket and a longer spring
Although it wasn't on my an but in my beetle , I had an incident where having a relatively cheap carb return spring came to be a good thing. As I was driving home I noticed the revs to go up ans stay revving high , when I got out to check on what was causing the problem I found that a small fire had broken out from the fuel pipe spraying onto the carb . This caused the spring to stretch give the revving result , luckily for me !
