If it helps... I work for a car dealer - I regularly scrap cars via Cartakeback and others... it's as easy as it seems. Check the various options, as sometimes you might get a bit more if its under a certain mileage etc... depending on your location, you'll often get better prices from going direct to the scrappies... cartakeback are just a portal and will use others in the background. If you go direct they'll pay more. Redcorn or Copart tend to pay well... Only requirement is to have the V5 (£25 from DVLA if you've lost it) and photo ID
Generally they'll be most interested in the "major components" being present, has it got engine, gearbox etc... we sometimes pillage scrap cars for bits and bobs and have in the past scrapped a car with a block of wood in the caliper as it had no rear brake disc fitted...
