Can you remember ' Glam rock'?

  1. Absolutely, and I wasn't there until their early eighties revival at Reading and Donington. The music on record just doesn't compare to the live show.
Anyone else remember Jimmy Lea on electric violin and that comedy little organ thing?

  2. Totally agree. I've seen loads of different bands in concert and Slade are up there as one of the best I've seen in a live performance.
Because of this thread I've even been listening to Slade On Stage on my MP3 whilst out jogging this morning!

  3. Bit like "The Sweet" A sides were poppy hits, B sides hard rockers written by them

Luckily we went on our motorbikes so we could stand there with our crash helmets on when the 2Ltr bottles of wee we're being thrown through the air

  7. I was in the middle of that bottlefest but fortunately I bought a hat to keep the rain off.

Lou and me just watched that and went off down memory lane. Sang every song. Remembered school days. Transistor radios hidden in school bags. Smiling ear to ear now. Cheers for that Jono.

  10. I've just got back from a garden centre and they were blasting out 'W.z..d' 'I wish it could be Christmas ...'. Best Christmas song but two months to go?!

  11. My copy of Slade on Stage won't turn up loud enough, no matter what I play it through.
