Most the garages round me seem to be running out of unleaded already. Does super unleaded cause any issues on a tuned type 2 engine, or is like other cars, better ??
What a rude engine...... I won't treat it again then. I suppose if it has no computers, it can't adjust anything !!
I would have thought 'super' was better. I used to have a 1985 Carrera 911. That didn't have computers in it did it? Well I don't think so. Went a hell of a lot better on 'super'.
[pre]Unless you've been shaving bits off your cylinder heads, etc anything other than boggo unleaded is unnecessary.[/pre] The CB 044 heads I have, had several days of machining on them.
I been putting super in my old golf for a few years, just seems better, he turns his nose up and goes in a strop if i put normal in nowadays A bit like me when the wife buys cheapo biccies >
and my pt cruiser runs better on higher octane....on normal unleaded its idle is quite up n down ......think all engines and pcm,s have there quirks.....i use superlead stuff and idle evens out and stays sure.......used both on a bus with no difference to mpg or noise ,wasnt more powerful infact i recall i felt it lacked a bit of ommmphhh...
I filled my C Max up with super and it ran poorly but then again its a tdi! (not cheap and what a waste of fuel!)
When they came back the size of a matchbox, I did ask if that was normal !! Its funny how you buy something and then pay to have stuff removed, and at a cost !
After all that, I think I filled it up too much, as the smell of petrol is pretty bad. I am hoping it is just the fuel that is in the pipe that I can smell. Maybe some has come out of the overflow on a corner. Hopefully it will go in few miles. Only filled it up to the click, due to the lack of petrol stations open round here.
