as some may know i have no heating just j tubes, would it work if i fit exchangers and just run the outlets to the y piece double end then out of the y piece single end to the rear under bench vent only?, also if i did this is it ok to blank off the tops of the exchangers where the tubes to the electric fan would normally go, so it is only fed by the outputs from the engine fan. i know i would have no control and it would be hot air only but it's just a thought at the moment, also if anyone could show me a picture of the tin that connects the rectangle outlets of the fan to the exchangers to enable the fan to push the air to the vents i would appreciate it.
you can do everything you're saying above but why would you want the 'heat' to only go to the back of the van? Surely you'd want said 'heat' to 'warm' your hands and windscreen? I too will be tackling VW's design, I found some nice heat exchangers whilst rummaging through some of the crap in a US bus so I will be fitting them but without using the fan, which, quite frankly, will spoil the look of my engine bay
the reason why is because i have got some american exchangers and nothing else, this idea will at least get me some heat in the van until i can get the other bits, i have got to take the exhaust and j tubes off to change the copper rings to the engine as it's been blowing since i got it.
sorry yes i do go on a bit.... and get your seasons right, it isn't even winter until 21 dec we are in autumn, it's not spring until march. i spoke to PYE off here last night, he has a few bits for the cause and nedfaux has too but he is so far away i never seem to get to sorting it.
Take it your not wanting the heating parts any more then? let me know if not because someone els is after some
Its everything (including the electric fan) you need for heating pipes, bellows, brackets its all there. The only parts you will need to get is heat exchangers. I cant remember what price I said. lets call it £20 as its Christmas I hope this year is better for you mate.
